CONFERENCE ABOUT THE ANTARCTICA

           The saturday, day 3 of november of the present year 2005, the biologist Manuel Gallego, one of the three who were to the Antarctica from university of Santiago of Compostela (Spain) ago six months aproximately, had given a conference about the Antarctica, a unknown continent for many people.

           This scientific man talked us, students and teachers of the area of the sciencies of the secondary school of Sar (Santiago of Compostela, Spain), about the climatological and environmental conditions existing in a peninsula located in the norwest of the Antarctica.

In the photo below we can enjoy a great landscape with snow above a volcanic land and icebergs in the distance. 

 

          Other interesting aspects studied by Manuel Gallego were the fauna present in this area. In the second photo the scientist share shot with a group of seals.
