Description: Perennial grass, with branched stock that manages to form bulky lawns. Lanceolate leaves -3 to 15 mm of width, uniform, little attenuated in the base, glossy, with membranaceous clear margin. Scanty stems. Spicular bracts lightly consistent, with subapical spot, that they exceed involucral ones. Short calyx. Corolla of pink more or less intense color.

Distribution: Cracks of limy rocky places and lawns in landings, with something of soil and accumulation of organic matter. Normally orientated to the N. They are frequently accompanied by Saxifraga trifurcata, Geranium dolomiticum and Arenaria grandiflora subsp. incrassata.

Habitat: Iberian endemism. Southwest of León's province (Montes Aquilianos) and north-east of that of Ourense close, to the river Sil.
