Description: Original species of America, has been naturalized by torrents and ruderal zones of the islands. It is a grass that it can reach three meters of height. It has a few big, ovalate leaves, the stems often acquire reddish colorations. It forms clusters of small white or purplish flowers, which when they are fertilized transform in beefy fruits of almost black colour that form a hanging cluster. It blooms in summer and autumn.
