Description:  The daffodils are bulbous plants, with basal leaves and with thick stems, that have one or  several flowers.  The flowers possess six petaloid tepals.  The stamens, in number of six, are inserted in the pipe of the perigynies.  The fruits are trilobulate capsules that contain generally numerous grains.
