General
Information on the Conference
Following
on from the success of the first Conference in 2004, the Second International
Conference on Current Research into Survival of Physical Death with
Special Reference to ITC will be held at the Auditorium of the
Caixanova Social Centre in Vigo, Spain, on the 28th to the 30th April
2006. The term ‘ITC’ includes Electronic Voice Phenomena
(EVP) together with claimed spirit communications through other electronic
media such as radios, television sets, fax machines, computers and telephones.
The Conference, which once again is non profit-making, will be held
under the auspices of the ITC Journal and will feature presentations
by a number of leading European and US authorities on ITC such as Daniele
Gullà, Dr. Sinesio Darnell, Hans-Otto König, Dr. Anabela
Cardoso, Professor Ernst Senkowski, Professor Mario Festa, and Sylvia
Hart-Wright. Also included will be contributions on other aspects of
research into survival from Professor David Fontana, Dr. Enrico Marabini,
Mario Varvoglis, Dr. Alexander Trofimov, Dr. Walter von Lucadou, Jean
Pierre Girard, and Dr. Peter Fenwick. Registration forms and further
details of the Conference will be available from July 2005 by post from

CONFERENCE DETAILS
The aim of the Conference will be to present details both of new developments
and new evidence in ITC research, and to draw attention to some of the
most important breakthroughs in the subject made in previous years.
It will for example include presentations detailing the way in which
scientific advances in acoustic and image analysis have further confirmed
the paranormality of ITC phenomena, and will be suitable both for experienced
researchers and for those new to the subject. Presentations will also
include details on ITC methodology, on new research initiatives, and
on the extent to which recent results in ITC further strengthen the
case for survival of physical death. In addition, presentations will
include insights into the nature of an afterlife provided by ITC communicators.
Conference
Venue and Timing
As with the First International Conference, the venue will be the main
auditorium in the Caixanova Social Centre in Vigo, one of the finest
conference complexes in Europe. The Conference is non-residential, but
details of good convenient hotels that have agreed to offer special
rates for those attending the Conference will be supplied to those registering,
together with information on Vigo as a city and of transport to and
from Vigo to adjacent airports. The Conference will commence at 12.15
hours on Friday April 28th and conclude at 18.10 hours on Sunday April
30th, and in total there will be over 20 hours of Conference presentations.
Conference
Programme
The Conference programme will be devoted to invited presentations from
leading experts and researchers. Where appropriate recorded extracts
of ITC communications, received under controlled conditions, will be
played, and guidance will be given on how to analyse results using computer
software. It will be emphasised that although many important advances
have been made in ITC methodology and analysis, ITC experimentation
is open to all, and that little is required in the way of equipment
or of technical expertise.
Official
Languages
The official languages of the Conference will be Spanish and English,
with simultaneous translation facilities provided for all participants.
As some of the most important work in ITC research is currently being
conducted in Italy, some of the presentations will also be in Italian,
and again simultaneous translations (into both English and Spanish)
will be provided for all.
Registration
Fees
The Conference is non profit-making, and the registration fee has been
kept to an absolute minimum necessary to cover the expenses of the invited
speakers. The fee for the whole Conference will be 135 Euros, while
for those wishing to attend only for individual days the fee will be
40 Euros for Friday, 65 Euros for Saturday, and 50 Euros for Sunday.
As places are limited, preference will be given to those wishing to
attend the whole Conference. For those who book six weeks before the
Conference (i.e. who register before March 14th), the fee for the whole
Conference will be 120 Euros. The registration fee will include the
usual information folder giving details of the presenters, conference
abstracts, and a list of participants, together with coffee and tea
during the morning and afternoon breaks.
Payment
Details
Payment should be made by Euro cheques payable to Cadernos de TCI or
ITC Journal or in cash at your own risk. Unfortunately cheques in other
